A ceremonial launch of a new line for the production of storage batteries took place at the «Kainar-AKB» plant in Almaty region. The project was implemented within the framework of a memorandum of cooperation between «Kainar-AKB» and the International Center for Green Technologies and Investment Projects (IGTIC), zakon.kz reports.

«The launched technology is advanced and expands the possibilities of using old batteries in the production of our own products. The new models of the battery cases will be completely made from secondary raw materials, which are processed on a new modern line of Italian production «ENGITEC» with complete neutralization of the electrolyte using an industrial treatment facility».

The new technological line will reduce the negative impact on the environment, as it is equipped with local cleaning filters.

«The launch of the new line will provide an opportunity to increase the production capacity to 3.7 million batteries per year. Currently, the plant produces 2.5 million units of batteries per year».

The modernization of one of the largest processing enterprises became possible thanks to the financial support of the Operator ROP. «Kainar-AKB» plant receives compensation payments from the Operator for the collection, processing and disposal of used batteries.

For the period from 2016 to 2020, the plant received 4 061 618 031 tenge (KZT). This year, the plant also managed to expand the geography of sales of its products and enter the UAE and Italian markets.

The plant plans to continue the development of the Chinese and European markets, increase sales to 3.7 million units per year, and develop new types of starter and stationary batteries.
